Welcome to the beautiful Finnish Lakeland

Pieksämäki is located by the lake Pieksänjärvi in the well-known scenic lakeland area of Finland.

Did you know that there are a total of 188 000 lakes in Finland? Driving through Finland to Pieksämäki offers you a lot of green forests and blue lakes along the way.

If you travel to Pieksämäki by car, the town is easily reached by good roads from all directions (as seen on the map). Ferry lines from Germany, Estonia, Sweden,  Russia and Poland arrive at Helsinki and there is also ferry lines from Sweden arriving at Turku and Vaasa. Driving from Helsinki to Pieksämäki takes 3,5-4 hrs. Pieksämäki can be reached by direct train from all of Finland’s main cities: Helsinki (3,5 hrs), Tampere (2 hrs) and Turku (3 hrs). And St. Petersburg (Russia) is just 4,5-5 hrs away by train!

Event area – Poleeni fairgrounds

Big Wheels main event and the Savo Vintage trade fair take place at downtown Pieksämäki by the Lake Pieksänjärvi. The event is easy to find by following Big Wheels signs from all major roads. The area is just few blocks away from the railway and bus station.

The Great Cruising Parade

The parade route starts from the Poleeni fairgrounds at 17.00 pm and ja goes around the Pieksämäki and Naarajärvi. The route ends near the railway station around the Prisma store. With approx. 600 vehicles the parade takes about one hour to go by.
